My name is Sara Sihrer. I have a passion for all things equine. I’ve been riding, guiding, raising, training, & competing in different disciplines with horses for the last 24 years. I grew up locally with a passion for the outdoors and a love of animals. I have my own horse that is a 26 year old OTTB mare named Lacey that has taught me so much throughout the 12 years I’ve owned her and a 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd named Dresden. These two have me wrapped around their hooves and paws with their everyday needs! Through horse ownership it has led me to many learning opportunities of many disciplines that the equestrian world offers. There is never a day when there isn’t something new to be learned from the many personalities and breeds out there. From anywhere from nutrition and herd health and wellness to injury and behavior. I use to show in my 20’s in Barrel racing, pole bending, and plug & flag racing. I even participated in some trail classes and horsemanship Western based events only for my preference of riding all events to be in an English saddle.
I have also learned and competed in local schooling shows for jumping and dressage, along with fun and game classes at local pleasure shows. I was a trail guide for around 5-6 years, and competed in Endurance racing. Along with being a professional groom and horse handler to managing and operating an American Saddlebred breeding facility. I’ve bred, raised, foaled and started over 100 foals to go towards their potential careers in the Saddlebred showing world. Herd health and wellness played a big part into the daily operations of raising foals. It was an absolutely blessing and taught me a completely different aspect to handling horses! Another fun blessing has been sharing my passion with others & filling them with shareable knowledge through all my learning experiences to which I am always open to new view points or training methods.
In my mares later years we have stepped away from showing to participating in clinics to which we have absolutely loved learning about centered riding & fun with ground poles. I've made a few stellar trips out west with a dear friend of mine and for many years we have played around with trail riding in the Rocky Mountains and done some cattle drive day trips, which has been an epic experience!
“There are many wonderful places in the world, but one of my favorite places is on the back of my horse” quoted from a horse person I knew long ago!
